So, Baikal is one of the special creatures of nature which is beyond time and transformations. Baikal is full of mystery, he keeps secrets of Past, Present and will keep a mystery of Future. One can feel his original greatness and reserved power. You lose sensation of time and measure of human beings once you get into severe and primordial beauty of Baikal nature.
And we who live near Baikal lake cannot be praised that we know him well, because it's imposssible to learn and understand him up to the end - It's Baikal feature. But anyway if you come for a short period of time you can feel Him. And the spirit of Baikal is something especial, existing, forcing to trust in old legends and with mystical fear and think can a men do what he want..

Young town Severobaikalsk was found in 1974 by the Leningrad builders on a high Baikal coast. It is obliged it's creation to construction of the Baikal-Amur highway laid on deserted
taiga open spaces.
The town has several small hotels, restaurants,
cafe, bars, country bases of rest. There are no industrial enterprises
in the town, the population is insignificant, so problems of large cities
are unfamiliar to us: air is clean, fresh, water is possible to drink from anyone stream and from
Baikal, in which each bay water is crystally transparent.
Severobaikalsk is connected with cities: Ulan-Ude (by railway,by air), Irkutsk (by air, by railway, “Comet” - summer on Baikal), Moscow (by railway - direct connections), Kislovodsk (by railway - direct connections).
The town is surrounded by Baikal range from three sides, from the fourth side - the deepest lake in the world — Baikal. His area can be compared with the area of American Great Lakes, and it's volume - is the fifth part of the world stocks of fresh water, its length is equal to distance between Moscow and St.-Petersburg
Baikal exists already about 25 mln years. You can stay near Baikal lake whole life and you will not see the same Baikal. Baikal attracts people, as a wonder of the world, with its restless beauty giving inexhaustible cleanliness and power. The northen Baikal attracts with its ecology, untouched by a man graceful bays, rocks. Everyone, who has drunk Baikal water, has his own unique Baikal
Baikal Lake is the most deepest in the world (average depth is 730́, and the largest depth is 1637́ near cape Izhimey (Olkhon island), is the most ancient, the biggest reservoir (20% of the world stock), the biggest number of endemics of flora and fauna.
The level Baikal is lifted on 456́ above a sea level, and floor is lower than a level of world ocean to 1181m. Stocks of water of Baikal would be enough for 40 years for the inhabitants of all Earth, and 46 ơ 1015 men simultaneously could drink it's water .

890 m, southern - 1419 m, mean - 1637 m.
