The Venerable Lharamba Geshe Lobsang Khedup
was born on the 7-th of May 1953, in the district of Zanaskar Ladak in India.At the age of
14 he took monastic getsul vows from the teacher Lobsang Zopa Rinpoche. Then
he studied at the Garcha Gomba monastery and memorized texts there.In 1973 the
teachers send him to Goman datsan to study the Buddhist Philosophy. 1973 at the age of 21
he took gelong vows from His Holiness Dalai-Lama the XIV-th and during 16
years he studied at the Goman datsan, beginning his study with Namdel,
Parchin, Uma, Dzod and Dulva. His main teachers were Gen Nagvan Dzhanchub, Gen Lobsan
Damba, Kensur Rinpoche Gen Agvan Nima and Kensur Rinpoche Gen Damba Tenzin. During 7 years
the teacher passed the exams on Philosophy by the Gelugpa tradition. In 1996 he defended
the academic degree of Geshe-Lharamba. Two months later he entered the
Baldan Dzhud Doddatsan. Under the guidance of Dzhud Dod Ken Rinpoche Tenzin
Sherab he studied tantrical instructions on the stages of Emergence and Completion. In
1998 Kenbo Lama Tsultim Puntsok send him to Russia (to Buryatia) as a teacher at the
request of Respected Bandido Khambo-Lama Damba Ausheev.
At present Geshe Lharamba Lobsan Khedup is a lecturer at the Buddhist Institute Dashi Choinkhorling.
